Mansura Walmart Making A Difference in Their Community

Every week, the Mansura Walmart donates an assortment of food items to Mansura Care and Hope, a local organization dedicated to serving those in need.

Rose Williamson, the director of Mansura Care and Hope, is deeply grateful for the partnership with Walmart. “The families we serve really appreciate these donations. It’s such a blessing to have access to fresh food that many of them wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise,” she said. “Walmart is really making a difference in the lives of so many here in Mansura.”

For grandparents raising their grandchildren, a growing number in Mansura, it’s often a financial burden to provide healthy, nutritious meals on a fixed income. Rose notes that these families are particularly grateful for the perishable food items, which are often the hardest to come by.

“There are so many grandparents raising their grandchildren here- including myself,” Rose continues. “They’ve already raised their own children, and now they find themselves taking on this responsibility again, sometimes with very little support. These donations from Walmart help lighten their load. It’s one less thing they have to worry about—one less trip to the store they can’t afford.”

Walmart’s retail store donation program is a lifeline for many in the community, providing fresh food that allows families to eat better without stretching their budgets too thin. Whether it’s a loaf of fresh bakery bread, a bundle of ripe apples, or a carton of eggs, each donation makes a difference.
